Additional Information

Body construction. The canopy is built from 2.5mm aluminium sheet, bent into shape, seam welded and ground back for a clean, smooth body profile. Most aluminium canopies on the market are flat pack models, where multiple panels are bolted together and finished with an adhesive seal. Our one piece, fully welded body allows for even distribution of loads, reduces the possibility of warping, and removes the risk of leaking between seals.

Locking. Our custom designed alloy lock combined with 2 stage rotary latches keeps your equipment secure, with single handle operation for ease of use. Central locking is integrated into the vehicle’s OEM system, so the canopy locks and unlocks seamlessly with the vehicle’s factory remote. This removes the need to manually lock and unlock individual doors to access your equipment.

Lighting. The 900mm LED strip light is mounted down the centre of the roof and controlled by magnetic door switches, so it triggers automatically when the doors are opened and closed. It also has an independent switch for manual control, and a dimmable function that adjusts the lighting to your needs with one push of a button. An electrical control box comes standard, integrating the lighting and locking features into the vehicle’s electrical system.

Roof rack load ratings. 125kg dynamic loading, evenly distributed across 3 bars, when the vehicle is in transit. 300kg static loading, evenly distributed across 3 bars, when the vehicle is stationary. The 3 bar roof rack system comes standard with every Aluminium Ute Canopy and is compatible with a wide range of aftermarket accessories.

Weight. Our Aluminium Ute Canopies weigh approximately 80 to 100kg, depending on the vehicle model, and this figure includes the backbone roof racks. For exact weight details, contact your local Caddy branch.

Installation. Fitment uses a no drill system and generally takes 3 to 3½ hours for a central locking canopy. Other factors may add time, such as particular items needing to be removed from the vehicle. This estimate does not include installing other items alongside the canopy, such as roof racks. If your vehicle requires a ‘J’ brace kit, allow an additional 2 hours.

Water and dust. Our Aluminium Ute canopies are weather resistant, not fully waterproof. Each canopy includes a full length PVC seal on each door in combination with a full rubber pinch weld door seal on the rear door. Water may still enter due to vehicle manufacturing gaps. Avoid high pressure washers and automatic car washes. Most ute tubs are also not dustproof. Although our canopies have full mounting and tailgate seals, dust commonly enters through factory gaps in the vehicle tub. Optional dust sealing kits are available for most models.

Finish. The textured powder coated finish delivers a rugged professional appearance while helping protect against everyday scratches, chips and wear. Available in Black and White. Limited models, made to order only.

Accessories. Compatible extras currently include a Mirror Monitor Reverse Camera, restoring visibility behind your vehicle. Further extras are planned as the product line develops.
